ABOUT THE PROJECT
Depicts the DIEP flap transferred to the chest. The artery and vein are connected to blood vessels at the recipient site using microsurgical techniques in order to restore blood flow to the flap. The flap is then aesthetically sculpted to restore the shape of the breast.
One of a suite of illustrations describing breast reconstruction procedures which include: Stacked DIEP Flap, SIEA Flap, GAP Flap, PAP flap, Latissimus Dorsi Flap, Nipple Reconstruction, Nipple Sparing Breast Reconstruction (both implant and autologous), and Prepectoral and Subpectoral Implant Breast Reconstruction Using Tissue Expander. Illustrations can be customized, and newly developed.
